In 2005, the Giller Prize partnered with Scotiabank to create the Scotiabank Giller Prize. It was the first-ever co-sponsorship for Canada’s most generous literary award for fiction. The purse increased from $25,000 to $50,000 that year, and grew again in 2008 to $70,000.
